The Everest trekking area or the Solukhumbu region has within its borders the Sagarmatha National Park, established in 1976 & covering an area of 1148 square kilometers, the tallest mountain in the world “Mt. It is also the home to two eight thousanders Cho Oyu (8,201m) and Lhotse (8,516m) besides several other famous peaks above 6,000 m.
